Homemade Nutella In 30 minutes you can have your own smooth and nutty chocolate spread- one that doesn't have sugar or palm oil on the ingredients list. Only 5 ingredients, dairy and gluten free, and you get to decide how sweet and chocolatey it is. Don't have 30 minutes but desperate for a healthy Nutella? See my note at the end for a shortcut! 1.5 cup raw hazelnuts 2 Tbsp raw cacao 1 Tbsp maple syrup or honey 1 tsp vanilla Pinch sea salt, optional 2 Tbsp melted coconut oil or nut milk (regular milk for non vegan) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/175 degrees C. Roast the hazelnuts in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. Once cooled, use a kitchen towel to remove the skins by rolling and rubbing the hazelnuts around in the towel. Just remove as much as you can. Blend the de-skinned hazelnuts in the food processor until you have a thick paste. This takes about 8-10 minutes. Congrats, you've made hazelnut butter! Add the cacao, vanilla, maple syrup, and salt if using. Blend until combined. If you're happy with the flavor and like a thicker spread, your Nutella is done! Or add more sweetener and/or cacao. To make it smoother and creamier, add the melted coconut oil or milk and blend again. *Want to skip the roasting, peeling, and most of the blending? You can always use store-bought hazelnut butter (or even almond butter) as your base and add the other ingredients from there. Just make sure to use natural nut butter with no added sugar. #nutella #homemadenutella #homemade #healthytreats #spreads #easyrecipe #vegan #glutenfree #dairyfree #breakfast #snacks #chocolate #nutbutter #cleandessert #refinedsugarfree #norefinedsugar
