Basic Raw Ball Recipe (raw, vegan, paleo, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free)

Raw balls and raw bars are becoming increasingly popular as people realize how much unhealthy crap is going into many of the energy and protein bars on the market. There are some really awesome companies making bars out of nothing but nuts and dried fruit. But why buy something when you can easily make it at home? You’ll be saving money and helping the environment by not purchasing individually wrapped bars. Plus you can make these ANY flavor you want, like Lemon-Coconut, Chocolate Fudge (nut-free), and Raw Gingerbread.

1 part soft dates, pitted (if you don’t have soft dates, soak regular dates in water for a few minutes)
1 part nuts (I used almonds)
1 part dried fruit (I used apricots)
Optional: ground flaxseed and/or shredded coconut

Blend your dates, nuts, and dried fruit in a food processor for a few minutes. When you see the mixture start to clump together and form a large ball, it’s finished. Grab bits of the mixture and form into little balls. Roll in the ground flaxseed or shredded coconut and store in the refrigerator!

*You can always make bars instead by pressing the mixture into a pan and then cutting into squares after being in the fridge for a couple hours.
