ANOTHER pizza crust. But this incredible recipe by @simplyquinoa is too good not to share! Most of the work is done for you during the day (or overnight) while the quinoa soaks. It’s amazing to see how the quinoa transforms into a creamy batter in the blender and then into a crispy and sturdy crust that will support any and all toppings.
Quinoa Pizza Crust
Makes one 9″ pizza, serves 2
3/4 cup quinoa, soaked in water for at least 6 hours
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbs olive oil
**Soak your quinoa by placing it in a bowl and covering with water. Let it sit all day while you’re at work/school, and it’s ready by dinner time!** —
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F/220 degrees C.
Drain and rinse your soaked quinoa. Add the quinoa, 1/4 cup water, baking powder, salt, and oil to a blender. Blend until it becomes a smooth batter. Pour into a 9″ cake pan that’s been lined with parchment paper and coated with oil. Bake for 10-15 minutes until firm. Remove, flip the crust over, and bake for another 10-15 minutes. It should be browned with crispy edges. Now your crust is done and ready to be topped! Add your toppings and bake another 12-15 minutes, or until your cheese has melted and starting to brown.
